Independent UK developer Rebellion today announced that gamers will be able to return to the demon-infested ruins of World War 2 Berlin this Halloween when Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 launches on October 31st for PC.
Rebellion also kicked off pre-orders for the game at a 20% discount on both Steam and – for the first time – Rebellion’s own Gamestore.
Originally announced for launch sometime this year, the first trailer and screenshots give a glimpse into the game’s hellish new environments and the welcome return of the series’ unique blend of Carpenter-esque soundscapes and aesthetic tones influenced by classic 80s and slasher horror cinema.
As Rebellion CEO and Creative Director Jason Kingsley explains, the studio really wanted to play on the strengths of the original game, recently nominated for ‘Best Action Adventure’ by TIGA in their upcoming awards:
“We wanted to twist the occult horror from Nazi Zombie Army into something more nightmarish, more insane. There’s been a huge focus on making the levels more intimidating and the enemies even more grotesque and challenging.”
“The first game really tested players’ abilities to work as a team in co-op, but also allowed solo gamers to hone their skills by multiplying the number of zombies in the campaign. Make no mistake, if you’re looking for shooter that puts your back to the wall, Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 has got you covered.”
