Remakes are a common thing with current gen and will probably continue in the upcoming years. To see your favorite games of the past is a scary but very satisfying thing when done correctly. Sega sought out to do this with Castle Of Illusion. The game is a remake of the 1990 Sega Genesis game.

The story is still the same as it was in the 90’s. Mickie and Minnie are chilling enjoying their day with a picnic when Mizrabel comes along with here hating and jealous ways. Mickie decides to adventure off to Mizrabel’s Castle Of Illusion to rescue his precious Minnie. There isn’t much added except a very incredible narrator who brings insight to the story like it’s story time.

The game-play usually works very well. There are moments where I felt as if Mickey didn’t have much room to breath on small platforms. You have to be very careful with your jumps and barely move…or not when landing on short platforms. It becomes a nuisance at the later levels but it doesn’t completely kill the title.
