343 Industries and Microsoft bring Halo: Spartan Assault to gamers with hopes up providing more lore to the Halo gaming universe with a new type of adventure. The story reflects upon events that range from Halo 3 and Halo 4. The action is a top-down action shooter that brought the series to touch-based devices. Returning to its roots in the past few months on Xbox consoles, ADG now looks to review it.

When it comes to the gameplay. It’s pretty basic for what you would expect for a game that was initially made for handheld touch devices. Don’t expect anything groundbreaking with the gameplay. You shoot your way through Covenant and Flood forces. I came across some issues in loading from one mission to the next where the game would freeze as you can see in the end of my #2 edition of my playthrough.

The features are some of the stand out reasons you should consider this game. There are 25 missions of battles that tell a new immersive story detailing events from Spartan Davis and my favorite female spartan Commander Sarah Palmer. There’s upgrades to speed up training or acquire armor and weapon upgrades. Intergration with Halo 4 lets you earn experience points for your career.

Short And Simple..

A Unique Spartan Experience

PLAY IT! 7/10
