Brawlout, a classic fighting platform party game, launched this past week and I’ve had the chance to play even before that courtesy of Angry Mob Games. If you are a fan of games like Super Smash Bros. and Brawlhalla, then you probably already heard of this game which released on Nintendo Switch, back on April 20, 2017.

I wanted play Brawlout past its release to see what the gameplay would be like online before giving my final review. So, let’s talk about the online. Oddly, a few people from media and influencer outlets were online and playing the game before release with great connections. Most of my connections were excellent till the weight of release came in. I can still get decent connections half the time but also not so much. Gameplay online also got cheesy once release came in. I guess kids will do anything it takes to win regardless. Well, I hope it’s kids ruining the fun that is in this game. Truth is there is a lot of fun in this game but the ways of players are already ruining the experience in the first week. I hope the developers find a way to balance it out and make it fun online also.

The game’s story is not really the best on the market but it is there for fans. For fans of the characters of the Hyper Light Drifter, Guacamelee!, Yooka-Laylee, and Dead Cells this would be decent fan service. It is purely text. Sometimes it’s repetitive but it also gave me a few laughs.

The gameplay is what I always talk about on this site in what I think makes great games. It fits the build of easy to pick up yet hard to master. Which makes you keep coming back for me even when people online are playing cheesy.

Opinion wise there isn’t much left to be said about this one for me. Despite, players ruining the experience I can see much fun with this one with friends on the couch via their local couch modes or with yourself. Online not so much.

Brawlout Is A Brawling Good Time!

Recommended For Respective Platform Fighter and Fighter Genre Fans.

Warning: Online Gets A Little Cheesy And Unbalanced!
