WWE 2K14 has been out for a while now but there’s still ton of new content on the way. Today, they will be bringing a WWE Superstars pack and I thought to myself ”Wasn’t I suppose to review that nWo Pack as well..”. So here I am. Let’s get it done. I just want to say these pack reviews will be very simple. I will take a look at the models, the presentation and the move-sets for DLC and make a grade based on that.
nWo Pack
- Playable New World Order (nWo)-themed Superstars: Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Syxx, Curt Hennig, Scott Steiner and The Giant:
- The nWo Pack is available for a suggested purchase cost of $8.99;
- The Giant is available free of charge.
The nWo Pack is also available to players through the WWE 2K14 Season Pass Program. For a one-time purchase cost of $19.99, a savings of more than 25 percent versus individual content purchases, players will receive the following items:
- Season Pass Program Exclusive: Playable “The Outsiders”-themed Superstars: Scott Hall and Kevin Nash;
- nWo Pack: as outlined above;
The Outsiders Take Down The Giant
I’m going to speak on the problems that are still clear in the installation of the DLC on your system. Some people will still experience memory loss on their WWE Universe saves and more. I received an issue where my characters would not be able to grapple or do actions in-game. They would just drop or freeze. I reached out to 2K on Twitter and everywhere and no one would respond to me on this matter. Every character except Big Show, Scott Hall or Kevin Nash (Superstars you download individually) is now bugged for me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling over and over but nothing worked. At the time of this review the pack is still having issues. I just wanted to warn because these things could happen to you.
When it comes to the models themselves. They look very well. It was nice to see some of the detailing from the tassels on Nash’s attire to the beard and crazy attire of nWo Macho Man. The facial features of Scott Steiner and Syxx-Pac bugged me a little but all in all not that bad.
Move-sets for all the characters seem to flow as they should to give you the feel of these nWo stars accurately. Some problems to me are in Macho Man’s move-sets as some face maneuvers are still in his moveset.
The themes are simply nWo first theme. There is no Rockhouse though you can add it with custom themes. The Outsiders for those with the Season Pass receive the original Outsider theme because they are The Outsiders in this DLC not The Wolfpac. WWE Game fans have made a fuss over this online and I’m just here to set the record straight of 2K’s vision and reasoning.
The nWo pack can and will add for the first time in years the nWo in good fashion to your latest wrestling game. So Short And Simple I will review this as follows…without the fact that currently I can’t personally play with all the Superstars.
7/10
The WWE Superstars and Moves Pack will be also reviewed soon as I give it all a test drive.*
