Edo Superstar, a fast-paced beat-em-up set in a world full of anthropomorphic animals, from Ukiyo-e Heroes artist Jed Henry, is now available on the iOS App Store for the iPhone – with iPad and Android releases coming soon.

Masaru is a martial artist monkey in training with the lofty goal of becoming the best fighter in all of Japan. And so he must fight his way to Edo City and win the Zodiac Tournament in order to make that dream a reality.

Famed artist Jed Henry’s game development company Hi-Tops,  in collaboration with publisher Cleaversoft, invites gamers to the vivid anthropomorphic world of Edo Superstar, a side-scrolling beat-em-up set in ancient Japan, available today for iPhones and coming soon to the iPad and Android devices.

Edo Superstar challenges players with mastering the movements of a fast and nimble protagonist. Utilize multiple types of attacks, string together massive combos, slide under punches, parry incoming blows, counter-attack foes in slow motion, unlock new abilities while leveling-up and using an intuitive gesture-based control scheme.

Masaru is a big-talking, energetic monkey who dreams of one day becoming the greatest martial arts master in all of Japan. To do this, players will need to help him fight his way to Edo City in order to compete in the Zodiac Tournament – and earn the coveted title.

Fame is everything to Masaru. The more enemies he defeats, the more famous he becomes, and the more famous he becomes, the more he’ll be able to increase his strength, speed, defense, and special stats. He’ll also earn money from fallen enemies, which can be used to purchase stat-boosting clothing and other special items.
