I got my hands on a pair of Tritton Katana HD 7.1. DTS Wireless headsets. I put them to the test across consoles and PC.

Let’s take a look at the specs and what Mad Catz and Tritton are promising people for new cutting edge technology with the below trailer and infographic.

The Katana HD 7.1 Wireless Headset does do sound better than anything you ever heard. What else would you expect from the first HDMI based headset? What I like most is that they made this headset wireless. The amount of distance you can have walking around your home is pretty good while still being able to talk.

Issues still come with Tritton Headsets when it comes to the comfort of the ear pieces. I feel they should take a page from Kingston HyperX products when it comes to ear comfort design. My other issue is that the boom mic seems to seem so behind in quality when compared to not only the headset but other mics on the market. I feel Mad Catz should have done what others haven’t done yet and stepped it up with the mic department for this headset. Can you imagine how many they would have sold?

All in all, Tritton made good on their promises on the audio. You will hear pretty much everything and things you didn’t even realize was there. I have even been watching movies with these headsets on. My personal favorite; a scary movie and my Tritton Katana HD .1 Wireless Headset.
