Today, Arc System Works released a trailer and details on Double Dragon IV. This new entry will be put together by old arcade creators to have the retro field of Double Dragon for it’s 30th Anniversary.
My opinion on this is mixed. Personally as an older gamer, I would love to dig up new memories and go further in the old lore of Double Dragon. I’m just not sure it should be done in a retro way. I think it should be done slightly different then Neon (and yes I know Wayforward did that), which overall was successful. What works in the past will not work for new gamers today. Which is why part of me thinks that Double Dragon IV entry should of have been overhauled with learned experiences from Neon and the past. I guess I will have to see when it releases and hope to get my hand on a copy to find out.
