Survive! Mr. Cube: ADG Review

 

Survive! Mr. Cube is out now on all consoles. Previously released on PS4 and now available on Nintendo Switch this game from Intragames brings a “rogue-like” gameplay action to gamers that experience it. Similar to survival and “Dark Soul” like games you will be challenged because if you die you lose everything but your gold.

 

I know some of you are thinking especially if you read my piece on Conan: Exiles that this isn’t my type of game. It isn’t but I give everything a good go before I speak on it and I always remain open and true to gamers of all types.

Controls on Survive! Mr. Cube is probably the best thing going about the game. Very easy to get down. This is also very useful for someone who may not be usually good at survival games.

 

The problem comes with the gameplay and the massive amount of enemies sometimes is very overwhelming. Even retreating didn’t help for me in these dark dungeons that will most of the time leave you cornered by enemies. This will lead to the costly death of your “cubed” warrior. I found this to be the most irritating part of the game. I felt I was dying not because of my skill but the bad stage and game design.

 

 

Survive! Mr. Cube’s story is kind of mysterious and involves being taking away from your love and wanting to find your way back to the world you know. Not the best plot but that’s all their is to it. I found it intriguing but not something that will be the story of the year in gaming.

 

 

The only other problems I have with this game is that it leaves you a world with no direction of where to go and what to do to advance. So you explore a dark map that develops as your travel and then gets taken away if you die, which is also irritating but I know some people play survival games for this type of challenge so I want completely knock it.

Survive! Mr. Cube is a decent game but I can’t help to think this game would have been better and more fun if it wasn’t of a survival gimmick and more of an RPG dungeon crawler instead.

Recommended For Survival Gamers But Inspiring Survival Game Fans May Stand A Chance & Like As Well.

Nice array of characters keep the game alive when the gameplay gets repetitive.
